South Korea that was not lucky in both previous matches, losing to Mexico 1-2 and to Sweden 0-1, managed to crash the 2014 World Cup winner Germany in the teams’ last matches of this championships.
From the very beginning, South Korean players put considerable pressure on their opponents, performing numerous attacks. Germany fought back, but the teams failed to score a goal and the first half ended 0-0.

In such situation, Germany just hadn’t time to retaliate. With South Korea’s victory, Germany has become the fourth defending world champion ever to be eliminated from the tournament in the group stage.
Following the match, football fans rushed to Twitter to make fun of the outstanding competition.
